An Open Letter to Lollapalooza

Dear Lollapalooza,

Bonnaroo just announced their line-up for 2011, and they did SO many things right. I hope your organizers stumble upon this blog and take this plea to heart, and steal Bonnaroo's line-up! Ok, so maybe not the WHOLE thing, but if you would please extend an invitation to the following artists, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thankyouverymuch!

Arcade Fire
The Black Keys
Neil Young
Mumford & Sons
The Decemberists
Iron & Wine
Florence & the Machine
Bela Fleck & The Flecktones
!!!

Song I Recommend

If you haven't had a chance to check out Iron & Wine's new album, Kiss Each Other Clean, I highly recommend it. Definitely some really good stuff. You can hear most of the album HERE, and below is one of the tracks I love, called "Your Fake Name Is Good Enough For Me." Enjoy!

Hear Iron & Wine's New Album

Iron & Wine's new album, Kiss Each Other Clean, is stream in its entirety on Conan O'Brien's website. I'm only mid-way through it, but I can say he's stayed true to I&W's sound, while adding more texture and energy throughout. Good stuff! Check it out HERE.

*Update: I think one of my favorite tracks off the album (on first listen) is the last one, "Your Fake Name Is Good Enough For Me." LOVE it.

New Iron and Wine Album Coming Soon!

This news makes me happy. I loved Iron & Wine's 2007 album The Shepherd's Dog, and I'm really excited to see how he follows it up. Apparently, there's a new album called Kiss Each Other Clean due out in early 2011, although I haven't seen a specific date for its release. Until this new music is available, if you live in Milwaukee, Iowa City or Columbus you can get your I&W fix when he visits you in October. Check out the specific dates and venues below.

10/12 Iowa City, IA - IMU Main Lounge
10/13 Milwaukee, WI - Pabst Theater
10/14 Columbus, OH - Ohio State University

Here's the video for one of my favorite Iron and Wine tracks, "Boy with a Coin."
